Carlos Torres Vila

Chair | BBVA

Carlos Torres Vila is the current Chair of BBVA. He joined the bank in 2008 as Head of Strategy and Corporate Development, and member of BBVA's Management Committee. In 2014 he was appointed Head of Digital Banking, and in 2015 became Chief Executive Officer of the bank. He was appointed Chair of BBVA and of the BBVA Foundation in 2018. He was a Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he worked for 12 years. He joined Endesa in 2002 as Corporate Director of Strategy and member of its Executive Committee, and became the company's CFO in 2007. Torres Vila graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he later earned an M.S. at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He also graduated in Law from UNED (Spain).

Peio Belausteguigoitia, who initiated his professional career in BBVA in 1997, at Banco Hipotecario. He is currently the Country Manager of BBVA in Spain since 2019 and Chairman of the Board of BBVA Seguros. He has led several of the core areas of BBVA Spain such as Risk Management, Retail Banking and Commercial and Corporate banking in different regions across the country. His ample expertise and sound knowledge of the industry helped him to successfully lead BBVA Spain’s transformation in his former position as Head of Client Solutions in BBVA Spain. He has a Law Degree, specializing in Economics from the University of Deusto. Aside from his professional duties, he is an avid reader and a big supporter of Athletic de Bilbao, his favourite football team since he was a child.

Chief Digital Officer | Telefónica S.A.

Chema Alonso is member of Telefonica S.A. Executive Committee from 2016 and he is currently Chief Digital Officer. In this role, he oversees Innovation, Data, Platforms, and Digital Product & Services, leading the strategy for the digitalisation of sales processes and customer communication channels of the company. As head of this Global Unit, he also aims to promote innovation of new digital products and services as well as the generation of internal efficiency supported by the technological capacities of big data and artificial intelligence of Telefónica’s fourth platform, with special focus on the digital home. With a long background in the area of innovation, he is also responsible for the innovation of Telefónica’s core technologies as well as the company’s relationship with the entrepreneurial ecosystem under an open cooperation model. He holds a PhD in Computer Security from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Technical Engineering degree in Computer Systems from Universidad Politécnica Madrid. The latter institution named him Honorary Ambassador of the University School of Information Technology in 2012. Cross of the National military Police Merit with white distinction. Awarded during 14 years as Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP).

Roberto Albaladejo leads BBVA Spark, a business unit created to support tech companies and VC funds with financial products and services. Spark also includes BBVA's investments in venture capital funds and its open innovation activities. Prior to that, Albaladejo had several roles at BBVA: he led the Chairman and CEO Office, Research and Global Public Affairs; and worked as a Managing Director within the corporate strategy and M&A team in Madrid and New York, covering transactions in Europe, Spain and Latam, including some investments in fintech companies. Before BBVA, Albaladejo worked as a M&A advisor at Deloitte and as a tax advisor at Garrigues (former Andersen Legal in Spain). He also holds an Executive MBA at IESE Business School.

Subsequently worked in Consulting at McKinsey and Company with specialization in Strategy in multiple industries; His first position at BBVA Mexico was as Director of Business Development for Corporate and Government Banking, to later join as Chief of Staff to the CEO and Chairman of the Board also at BBVA Mexico. Susana Lluna is a journalist, digital communication consultant, speaker on digital citizenship and strategic communication, and teacher of digital skills in companies such as Leroy Merlin, Boehringer, and American Express. Since 2018, in charge of presenting and writing scripts for events such as the 25th Anniversary of ITI, Go Digital Nacional (Valencia Chamber of Commerce), Retail Future 2020, 2021, and 2022 (Pateco), Innpulso Emprende 2022 by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, Forinvest 2023, CEEI Awards, and Valencia Startup Market by the Valencia City Council.

Antonio started his career as a consultant focused in Technology, Media and Telecom. There he had the opportunity to learn how (mobile) internet growth is blurring barriers between different industries and making them converge. One of those industries is finance. He joined BBVA to be part of its transformation strategy, and since then he has had different jobs. Started working for the BBVA Ventures team (today Propel) investing in fintech startups, continued with a role in Digital Banking Strategy team, and recently assuming the responsibility of Business Development in South America (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Perú, Venezuela, Uruguay and Paraguay). The transformation work plan included quality plans to become the most recommended bank in all countries, development of the best mobile app, push of digital sales, strengthening of our SMEs business and finally being proactive in connecting with the innovation ecosystem in the region to explore partnerships with selected startups. He also held the responsibility of Agile Organization until July 2019, focused in scaling the Agile methodology through-out the entire organization, more than 33.000 people including holding and countries, to improve quality, time to market, productivity and team engagement. From July 2019 until September 2021 he held the responsibility of IT Strategy & Control within BBVA, a function that manages some of the core IT functions at a global level, such as IT strategy, finance, vendor management, PMO, first line of defense and IT spin-offs. Currently he holds the position of Head of Sustainability Strategy, Development & Data, where he contributes to the design of the strategic plan for all segments, as well as the development of core projects and the set-up of a core data asset to be leveraged to generate business, understand clients and report progress to all stakeholders.

Sonia has over 20 years of experience leading digital businesses. She joined Kibo in 2016 and has since invested in different verticals ranging from edtech, health tech, AI, media and mobility. Sonia currently sits on the boards of Innovamat, Odilo, Acurable, Evernest, Pandago, Green Eagle, Circular, Stoyo and Tappx. Sonia has an extensive experience in the digital sector having founded and led digital businesses such as MercadoLibre, Match.com or Specific Media/Vindico in Spain. Sonia started her career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers in London and New York and also worked in private equity at 3i in Madrid. Sonia holds a BA degree in Business from ICADE (Spain) and an MBA from Stanford University. Sonia has published two books on networking and social networks, was awarded the Stanford Associate Award (limited to 2,700 alumni worldwide), and is currently VP of the Stanford Alumni Association in Spain. Former Head of Europe in Capital Markets, he combines over a decade leading investment banking businesses with a global fintech trajectory as investor, founder and C-level executive in various companies in the US and Europe. Passionately involved in the innovation ecosystem, he serves on a variety of boards leveraging his network and experience to further startup growth. Lucía Hojman is Head of Business Development at BBVA Spark in Spain. She joined the company in 2022 to support the launch of BBVA Spark, the new bank for high growth companies.

Previously, Lucía worked for over nine years at Endeavor —both in Spain and Argentina— with the most promising scale-ups, investors and ecosystem players in more than 40 markets.

Hojman has an extensive experience in selecting, supporting and empowering high impact entrepreneurs across a variety of industries, markets and regions. Currently, she leads strategic initiatives at BBVA Spark Spain to support the local salesforce in achieving KPIs and business objectives.

Araceli Segarra

Alpinist

With a degree in Physiotherapy and a degree in Organization’s Psychology, Araceli is a rock-climber, an illustrator of children's stories, a speaker, a communicator, and an image prescriber for commercial brands. In 1996 she became the first Spanish woman to summit Everest. She has worked in different fields of communication, presenting and collaborating in television programs and documentaries, and conducting radio programs or writing articles for specialized press. One of her most recent documentaries is “Women of K2”, together with National Geographic. In her lectures, Araceli explains her personal and professional  experiences in the world of mountaineering, making analogies between the complicated climb up the mountain and the no less difficult business world. She uses the ascent to the mountain as a metaphor to value the different aspects of human nature, and that, in these conditions, it is pushed to the limit.

Evelina is Managing Director for Client & Strategy at Just Climate. Prior to this, Evelina spent three years as Investor Relations Senior Manager at Helios Investment Partners in London. Her role covered fundraising, client engagement as well as development of firm's impact and climate strategies. She had previously spent four years working as part of the firm’s value creation team working with management teams in Africa and the United Kingdom in sectors including Energy, Real Estate, Telecommunications and Financial Services to drive growth, develop robust ESG systems, and prepare the businesses for exit. Evelina has also worked at McKinsey as a strategy consultant, and started her career at Ernst & Young in the London Energy & Resources group. Evelina received a BSc in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Warwick, UK. Evelina speaks English, Russian, French and Swahili.

Benoit Menardo studied engineering at Ecole Des Mines De Paris, and later at MIT. He has lived on 5 different continents and speaks 8 languages. After graduating, he worked for Bain & Company, and after three years he went back to study at INSEAD, where he decided to set up his first business with Rocket Internet. In early 2020, together with Avinash Sukwhani, Menardo co-founded Payflow, which is today the leading salary-on-demand company in the European Union.

She has extensive experience in entrepreneurial education, currently leading the Ventures Academy program from Endeavor in conjunction with the University of San Andrés. Borja Saez de Montagut has 20 years of experience in investment banking. Joined BBVA in 2003 as part of the Project Finance team in Latin America where he executed transactions all across the region. In 2009 he relocated to Hong Kong where he was responsible for the Project Finance activity in Asia-Pacific. In 2012 he took over the Global Lending responsibilities in Asia, including corporate and non recourse financing. In 2016 he was appointed Head of Project Finance Europe and Asia. Since 2017 he has been appointed Global Head of Project Finance Energy. Previously he worked in Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) in its Utilities and Petrochemical division. Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering by ICAI-ICADE and MBA by Georgetown University (USA).

Alister Moreno is the founder and CEO of Clikalia Group, a Spanish prop-tech that has revolutionized a sector as traditional as real estate through technology and transparency. Clikalia Group is currently the first group that offers a complete 360 service to its customers with everything related to housing, from purchasing a home in just 7 days to the sale closing. Legal & tax services, customized renovations, interior design, mortgage brokerage and the option to rent are just some of the services they have to offer. A personalized customer experience is the essential factor behind ever service offered, always backed by Clikalia's technology. Alister's strategic vision and ability to develop new business models have been essential to the company's rapid growth and internationalization. Founded in a storage room in the Madrid neighborhood of Manoteras in 2018, the company has gone on to have locations in Madrid, Mexico City, Lisbon, and Paris, with offices in other cities in Spain and in Guadalajara (Mexico) as well. From the initial 11 members, Clikalia's team has grown to nearly 1,500 people. In 2021, Clikalia achieved the largest financing round in Spain, exceeding 460 million euros. Alister's entrepreneurial philosophy and panoramic vision have led to Clikalia's success and stem from an education, life, and professional experience forged between Spain and the United States. Born in Miami, Alister graduated from Business Administration and Management (CUNEF) and from Harvard Business School (HBS). He began his professional career in Spain in the banking sector with Deutsche Bank. He then moved to the United States, joining the Investment Banking team at Banco Santander in Boston and New York. During this period, he specialized in Credit Markets and, later, in the TMT sector (telecommunications, media, and technology), where he analyzed new business models that were changing the world, improving the customer experience, and challenging the status quo of traditional sectors such as real estate. Throughout his time in the TMT sector, he was able to witness first-hand the ability of technology to accelerate all types of businesses. In addition to being CEO and founder of Clikalia Group, Alister serves on the board of LaFinca Global Assets as an independent director. He is also an active business angel and Endeavor entrepreneur.

Guibert Englebienne

Entrepreneurship is in Guibert’s DNA. He has been programming since he was 12 years old, creating everything from video games to home tech solutions. Prior to co-founding Globant, he had already started six different companies, bringing with him the experience of learnings and failures therein. Globant was born through Guibert and his co-founders’ vision that technology development can be done anywhere in the world, a vision that has propelled them to incorporate diverse talent to create innovative solutions for the world’s top brands. On 18 July 2014, the team walked up to the New York Stock Exchange, dressed in Globant green for the company’s IPO. Guibert remarked, “When a team believes everything is possible, nothing is impossible.” His role at Globant has grown with the company as it has entered new markets, realms of expertise and business models. Formerly CTO, he became President of Globant X and Globant Ventures to help drive success with these initiatives, including Augmented Coding and Future of Organizations, among others. Guibert also is President for Latam, a role to provide strategic advice and propel Globant's regional leadership. He was included in the Globalization Today’s “Powerful 25” list, positioning him as one of the industry’smost influential leaders. He is frequently invited to talk about innovation at events including Tedx,  Communicating the Museum, La Red Innova and Innotribe. Globant’s four founders were recognized as Endeavor Entrepreneurs in 2005 and Guibert recognizes the mentorship and the networking opportunities of the organization. He serves as chairman of Endeavor Argentina, with the goal of igniting entrepreneurship among the new generation. Of the four co-founders, Guibert is known as the most gregarious of the pack, regularly socializing with Globers the world over and bringing people together through a shared passion for technology. He is one of the most important figures in the Argentine entrepreneurial world. With his friends, he founded Globant, one of the most important companies in the national technology industry, the first Argentine firm to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange and whose market value today exceeds one billion dollars. Today he is also director of Endeavor Argentina.
