BBVA Open Talent was born in February 2009 as an initiative to promote technology-based entrepreneurship through concrete support for innovative projects created by startups.

Following the vote among 140,000 internet users and a panel comprising the BBVA investment committee, 10 finalist projects were chosen, and Pidecita was eventually selected as the BBVA Open Talent winning project.
